1. Delete from inside the app

This is the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open BillMaple and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
  4. Confirm when prompted.

Your bills and your profile are removed from our database, and your sign-in account is deleted, as part of the same action. Once it finishes you are signed out, and that account can no longer be used to log in.

2. Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, write to us and we will delete the account for you.

Send to: privacy@billmaple.ca
Subject: Account deletion request
Include: the email address you used to sign up

We can only act on a request that comes from the email address registered to the account, or where you can otherwise confirm ownership. This is what stops someone else from deleting your account. If we cannot verify the request, we will write back and ask.

3. What gets deleted

DataWhat happens
Your bills Every bill record — provider, amount, due date, category, payment status and account number — is permanently deleted.
Your profile Name, email, phone number, address, city, province and postal code are permanently deleted.
Your sign-in account The authentication account itself is removed. Signing in with that email, or with the Google account linked to it, will no longer work.
Your email import address Your personal bm-…@bills.billmaple.ca forwarding address stops working. Bills forwarded to it afterwards are discarded rather than imported.
Bill photos There is nothing to delete. A photo you scan is read and discarded within the same request — BillMaple never stores the image.

4. What we keep, and why

Deletion is completed within 30 days.

In a small number of cases we may retain limited records past that point where the law requires it — for example, transaction records tied to a subscription purchase, which we are obliged to keep for tax and accounting purposes. Those records are held separately from your account and are not used to identify you as a BillMaple user.

Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be traced back to you or your account may also be retained.

5. Cancelling your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a BillMaple Premium subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the app store rather than by us, so only the store can cancel them.

  • Android: open the Google Play app → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → BillMaple → Cancel subscription.
  • iPhone or iPad: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → BillMaple → Cancel subscription.

Cancel the subscription before you delete the account, so that billing stops.
